MORE Affliction MMA PPV thoughts....

I forgot to add that, watching it LIVE, the Arlovski KO happened so fast it was ridiculous... no one knew what happened at first.

Listen I think some brutal shit is HILARIOUS. But the end of the Belfort v. Lindland fight was a sick/sad/scary triforce. The only way to explain it is that 'The Law' looked like he actually, literally got killed in the ring by 'The Phenom' and then came back to life as a MMA zombie. He was so out of it for so long it was freaky seeing it live.

As soon as he gets KO'ed and the ref comes to check on him look at that leg quiver... freaky.

Besides that both Sokodjou and 'The Pitbull' after their losses looked like someone shot their dog right in front of them... those dudes were emotionally CRUSHED.

'Baby Fedor' had his head used as a punching bag by Buentello for the last round and a half and looked like he just wanted the fight to be over at the end.

Yvel was outwrestled and muscled by just an all around better fighter in Barnett and Lauzon looked like he was having some trouble dealing with the unorthodox striking style of Green before he started falling to the ground claiming groin shots like a pussy. The first one was just lower stomach, the second was a light glancing knee push around the area of the inside thigh and the third was a kick to the hip.

All in all it was totally awesome-tits.

ARLOVSKI YOU IDIOT!!!

Andrei Arlovski looked sharp last night. His boxing was crisp and quick, he was light on his feet... he appeared to be giving FEDOR a good fight and was definitely winning the first round....

...until 3:10 in when he decided to go for a flying knee and got spun around mid-air 180 degrees and dropped on his head all by a Fedor overhand right.



It definitely was not a "lucky" punch as Fedor looked to be luring him in with a bit of the ole rope-a-dope after that front kick and appeared to know what AA was going for well before he did.

HERES THE FIGHT.

Personally I would love to see a rematch down the line after AA fights Tim Sylvia for the 4th time and maybe does a little pro boxing... after last night though Fedor is running out of competition: Josh Barnett is most likely next, then you have Alistair Overeem and Fabricio Werdum probably on the horizon. (After those 3 is when I'd like to see an AA rematch.) Sergei Kharitonov is also someone generally considered a top 10 heavyweight that Fedor could face.



If and when he gets through those 5 fights is when the UFC's anemic heavyweight division starts to have to come into play (provided there is no meteoric rise of anyone else on the international scene.) Randy Couture has always wanted a piece of Fedor but no one really thinks he has a shot at winning anymore (if they ever did.) Frank Mir is another option but Emelianenko hardly needs to fight him to secure his standing as the GOAT. Whoever comes out of the Gabriel Gonzaga / Shane Carwin / Cain Velasquez / Cheick Kongo UFC heavyweight challenger grouping could make a case for a fight against 'The Last Emperor' as well.

BUT the major fight would be Brock Lesnar. (Provided both keep winning and dominating of course.) That would probably be the biggest MMA fight ever... minus perhaps an Arlovski rematch if he became a pro boxer and experienced some success, as he and Freddie Roach have stated is their goal.



What it really comes down to though is that a Fedor v. Barnett fight would just be the bow in wrapping up and securing Emelianenko's legendary status. 'The Baby-faced Assassin' is the only one who really "deserves" to face Fedor and both have repeatedly talked about their good friendship whenever that is brought up so who knows if it will even happen. Everything else for 'The Last Emperor' is mopping up and cleaning out every single last possible and remote challenger to his crown.

Good Lord anyone that buys or wears an item of their clothing should be shot but they have the best of the best and I like their MMA promotion.... it's not only a great main event but a stellar undercard as well... not at all like a boxing PPV.....

I'm still picking Fedor, but I'm worried about all the Fedor hype building into this and a possible letdown. It should be a good one.

RAMPAGEBOMB~!, RANDLEPLEX~!

First of all both these moves are ridiculous, the fact they were pulled off in real MMA matches makes them even more remarkable... in the first one Quinton "Rampage" Jackson actually POWERBOMBS Ricardo Arona for the KO in a match in PRIDE FC... thus solidifying the legendary status of the RAMPAGEBOMB~!






The second is move is disgusting not only for it's execution but also for the fact that the victim about 30 seconds later submits Kevin Randleman for the victory..... the victim of the famed RANDLEPLEX~!...? None only than The Last Emperor Fedor Emelianenko.





If you want to see some really nasty shit though look up some pictures of Randleman's staph infection online.... It's pretty gross and at first you really don't know what you're looking at.... then the nausea sets in.

Also Rampage and Randleman actually fought a good fight in PRIDE as well. The way Rampage repeatedly stuffs Randleman's takedowns is amazing. (The video edits out mostly just the two of them leaning on each other in the corner for a while.)

CRANK 2 BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crank 1 was all kinds of unexpected awesome.... I'm just afraid that this one sets the bar too high.....

Still it looks like pretty much the greatest movie of 2009 already....
